What Do You Value?

What I value is what I find time for.
— John C. Maxwell

Do you know what you value?

If not, the quickest way to arrive at an answer is to discover where all of your time goes. To do this, perform a time audit of a given week. Don’t try to nail down every minute, just simply group your time into chunks and see where it all goes. The results might surprise you.

There are many things I assume I value. But when I see how much time I allocate towards it (and compare it to everything else my time goes to), a different picture emerges. Dallas Willard famously said, “Reality is what you run into when you’re wrong.”

We can have good intentions, but if we never make time for something, we really don’t value it. It’s as simple as that.
